Fly Tying Blog – Fly Tyers Guild is a blog for Fly Tying Guild members and articles about fly tying. The purpose of this blog is to support the craft of fly tying and the advancement of individual fly tying skills. Guild members can submit fly tying articles and read articles about fly tying history, tying techniques, favorite fly patterns, and recipes. Other topics include profile spotlights on Tyers, personal stories, and experiences related to fly tying. In this blog post, you will find information on how to submit and get articles, images, and photos published.

When writing, the content should be kept to around 1500 words, and no less than 300 words. Please provide article related images to enhance the topic. Images need to be less than 1MB, clear, not blurry, and JPEG. Please note that images and photos may require resizing and cropping for posting. If submitting more than one image or photo, provide instructions to their placement, if needed. If you want image captions added, please provide that information. This is an open site, all content and images are viewable to the public.

Images, photos, and written content submitted to Fly Tying Blog – Fly Tyers Guild must be the original work produced by the author. If the article contains content for reference, be sure to give proper credit to the source to avoid plagiarism. All article submissions are subject to being screened, edited, and approved for publishing by the Fly Tyers Guild “Editor”. Please send your draft article either in a word document or in the body of the email using a 12pt standard font such as Times New Roman. Use an appropriate title that highlights the article’s main point.

In the email subject line write, “Request to have an article published to the Fly Tying Blog”. Begin your email message with a statement to the Editor granting the Fly Tyers Guild permission to publish and retain the content, images, and photos on the Fly Tying Blog- Fly Tyers Guild site. Be sure to state how you want to be recognized as the author. You can use first name, full name, a pen name, or it can be anonymous.
